North Country Induction-with-Mentoring Project
The NCES PD Center is working with four district in the North Country Induction-with-Mentoring Project. Haverhill Cooperative School District joins the White Mountains Regional School District, the Berlin School District and the Lin-Wood School District in the project for 2006-07. Each participating district has a design team that works on designing and implementing a sustainable mentoring and induction program for their district.
Mentor training, Learning-Focused Relationships, was provided by Bruce Wellman. Bruce is the co-author of Mentoring Matters with Laura Lipton. Bruce also provided a two-day institute for administrators, Learning-Focused Supervision.
The Project Consultant/Facilitator is Deborah Roody. Deb has worked extensively with the Induction-with-Mentoring Toolkit. She has been instrumental in engaging districts with this tool and helping them work towards implementing sustainable programs.
The North Country Induction-with-Mentoring Project is made possible through the New Hampshire Department of Education through the Total Quality Enhancement Grant. For more information on the Toolkit or the TQE grant, contact Susan Gifford or Jonathan Higgins at the NH Department of Education.
North Country schools interested in developing a mentor program may contact Lori Langlois for information.
