2004-2005 Awards (NCES Project)

In this year’s technology mini-grant competition, the three $3,000 awards went to:

Gorham High School – Sophomore Survival Day. Students will integrate the components of winter photography and ArcView (geographic information systems software) to existing project that detailed the town’s forest.

Lafayette Regional School – Paper Animation in Fourth Grade Electricity. Students will use paper animations, captured through video, to represent the concept they are studying. This process will teach students to communicate ideas and provide an opportunity to assess student understanding.

Whitefield School – Winter, Weather, and Whitetail Deer. Six grade students will collect and investigate outdoor habitat of deer. Tools integrated include digital photography, global positioning, and remote data collection with probeware.
