NCES Welcomes New Executive Director
Charles Thibodeau has been hired by the NCES Board of Directors to lead the agency.


North Country Initiative for the Advancement of Science Teaching

The NCES Professional Development Center was awarded a grant (SAU 3 fiscal agent) for science related professional development. Projects in the initiative include:

Geological and Environmental Fieldtrips for Educator

Collaborating to meet ICT Literacy Standards

Over the summer educators from SAUs 3, 20, 35, 36 & 68 assembled at the NCES PD Center to work with facilitator Paula Churchill to develop exemplary activities that connect content area skills for each grade level in the continuum.

Collaborating to meet ICT Literacy Standards

On May 15 & 16, educators from SAUs 3, 20, 35, 36 & 68 assembled at the NCES PD Center to work with facilitator Paula Churchill to develop a skills continuum model for districts to adopt in order to meet Information and Communication Technology Literacy Standards. In July, educators will work for further identify exemplary activities that connect content area skills for each grade level in the continuum.

$5,000 Technology Integration Mini-Grants
